Hosta 'American Sweetheart'

(H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, 2002) M This tetraploid version of ‘Sea Thunder’ was named in the honor of Mildred Seaver, Amercia’s “Queen of Hostas”. Like its parent, it displays green leaves with a white center. However, the tetraploid version has a much wider green margin and much thicker leaves, which are held more upright than ‘Sea Thunder’. Lavender flowers top the clump in August.

'Fujibotan'

Established clumps are capable of producing stems with over 50 flowers on each stem. This hosta was selected on Japan's Mount Fuji by Gotemba Nursery and is recently available in the U.S. The name Fuji refers to Mount Fuji, botan is in reference to the tree peony. A choice hosta.

Occuring as a natural sport of 'Striptease', 'Hanky Panky' emerges in the spring with dark green leaves edged with a pale lime edge. An ivory halo separates the center from the margin. As the summer progresses, the center brightens to a creamy-yellow color as the "Striptease-pattern" changes to a dark green and the margin then becomes near white.
