Carex work well when added to the shade garden. They give a nice texture as specimens in a small garden plot or as lining a walkway or companions to Hosta . Easy to grow.
These are grown in 2 inch pots. They will be knocked out of the pot with some soil removed for shipping.

This Japanese
import combines beauty and intrigue. Narrow green with white variegated
leaves follow the central stem like a spiral staircase. A dramatic
plant to combine with ferns or hostas in southern gardens. 'Sparkler'
can be used in combination container plantings in Northern zones.
Prefers moist soils in woodland conditions. Reaches a height of 12 to
16 inches tall. Hardy in Zone 7b to 10

The white
margined sport of 'Island Brocade' has a 6 inch tall clump that slowly
spreads to produce a nice ground cover. A good contrast to hostas and
ferns in the lightly shaded landscape. Hardy in Zone 5 to 8.
