A large H. sieboldiana type selection from 'Dorothy Benedict' X H. hypoleuca cross produces very large leaves with a dark green center. A very wide greenish yellow margin circles the nearly round corrugated leaves. Pale lavender flowers top the clump in midsummer.

'Abiqua Drinking Gourd'

This west coast creation features an interesting round, puckered, intensely cupped-shaped leaf. In fact, no other hosta boasts such deeply cupped leaves. White medium bell-shaped flowers in June to July. This is a distinct cultivar, great as a specimen plant.

'Alex Summers'

This majestic hosta with its upright form commands attention. Choice and highly coveted, this sport of 'Gold Regal' displays beautiful dark green leaves edged with a bright golden margin. 'Guardian Angel'

(C. & R. Thompson, 1995) L The sight of the majestic size and beauty of a mature 'Guardian Angel' is one of the thrills of the spring garden. Large blue-green leaves are ruffled and folded, and centered with a grayish-ivory variegation pattern most intense in the spring. In time the clump is capable of reaching 6 feet, and is topped in early mid summer with pale lavender flowers. For a prized specimen spot in the lightly shaded landscape. No hosta collection is complete without it.

This sport from 'Choo Choo Train' produces large heart-shaped leaves with a gently ruffled edge. The yellow-gold leaves displays several shades of green where the wide dark green margin bleeds into the gold center. Pale lavender flowers open above the 6-foot clump of foliage in midsummer. Filtered shade or morning light draws the richest colors from the plant. 'Journey's End' was a multiple award winner at two American Hosta Society National Conventions. Similar to 'Frances Williams', we recommend it as a replacement because it has more of a glaucus bloom (powder coating) on the leaf and displays its variegation color later in the season protecting it from the burning to which 'Frances Williams' is prone. Beautiful round leaves are margined with gold. Typical leaf corrugation and plant growth of H. sieboldiana 'Elegans'.
