We are pleased to offer nearly all of the Northwind plants wholesale to Nurseries and Garden Centers for growing and resale. These plants come from Shady Oaks Nursery of Waseca Minnesota.
I established Shady Oaks nursery in 1982 as a retail mail order nursery dedicated to supplying "Plants for Shady Places". Soon after that, we began to produce Hosta by meristem (tissue) culture and the wholesale market opened up. In 1995,my son, Gordon assumed the operation and management of the nursery and by 2001, it became a wholesale only operation. Shady Oaks now produces many species other than Hosta. Most of the production continues to be plants that tolerate shade, but other unique and specialty plants are included.
